Our Mission Statement

We exist to support all women who survived domestic abuse or at risk. To work towards creating a society that is safe for women to enjoy their human rights. To represent Jesus in our work by speaking the truth in God’s word.

Our vision

We envision a world where the rights of women are respected. A world where domestic abuse is no longer tolerated.

What we do

  • We support the survivors of domestic abuse.
  • We raise awareness on domestic abuse.
  • We promote primary prevention of domestic abuse.
  • We train organisations to act against domestic abuse.

Here at Woman Favored we are changing the story for survivors of domestic abuse. We will not stop talking about domestic abuse until all women are safe.

Primary prevention is key to our work.

We provide consultancy, trainings, workshops, dialogues with religious institutions and seminaries. We believe that domestic abuse can be addressed through working together with religious institutions in promoting peaceful masculinity, advocating for the rights of women, and in fostering Godly marital relationships that are based on fairness.

In the same way husband’s ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.”  (Ephesians 5:28).

“Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.” (Colossians 3:19).

“Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as a delicate vessel, and with honour as fellow heirs of the gracious gift of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.” (1 Peter 3:7).

Testimonials of survivors

  • “When I first heard about Our Hope network, I didn’t think it’s for me because my life was too complicated to talk about it to anyone. But when I listen to the stories of other women here in the program, I felt so relieved to be surrounded by people that I can relate to.” - Nicola’s Story.

  • “I would definitely recommend programmes like this one to anyone out there who have been the victim of domestic abuse. It is good to feel empowered with knowledge, and the group contribution makes a big difference in healing.” - Noma's Story

  • “Participating in Our hope programme helped me a lot. As the weeks went on, I felt more and more confident to open up for the first time in my life and just talk really. Talking to other women made me feel like I matter. I learned a lot from the course.” - Sylvia’s Story

  • “The programme was great, I will recommend it for any woman. What is done is done there is nothing you can do to change it. All I can advise you to do is to connect with other women who understand your pain, talking is healing.” - Patricia’s Story
